Support in School

ISPs (individual Support Plan)

When a child is on our SEN list with very specific need, an ISP will be written. This has the child’s strengths, barriers to learning, type of support school will give them and targets for the future. These are reviewed half termly in consultation with parents and children.

Target Mats

When a child needs some additional support with targets that are more broad, we write a target mat  for them. This records all the areas that are their strengths and struggles. We give the child 2 or 3 targets on here and it includes what school does to help them with each target. These are also for children on our SEN list and are reviewed termly in consultation with parents and children.

Sensory Room and Provisions

We have a wonderful new sensory area which is calming, quiet and filled with resources that allow children to regulate when they need some space from their busy days. Our sensory area will also be used to support wellbeing sessions that are delivered to some of our children. We are extremely pleased to be able to offer this space in order to support SEND within our school.

Other provision within school is available to children who may need it in order for them to be successful in their day, achieve their best in school and feel happy and safe with us. As well as having an adaptive curriculum that is inclusive to all, we deliver a wide variety intervention sessions, ranging from a curriculum focus to an SEMH focus to personalised sessions designed with support from our outside agencies.  Finally, we have access to a number of other items such as wobble cushions, trampolines, fidget toys, ear defenders, reading pens, etc.  At Linton-On-Ouse Primary School and Nursery we strive to go above and beyond in order to support our pupils.
