We currently have places available throughout our school
At Linton-on-Ouse Primary School and Nursery we try to make the process of choosing a school place easier, because deciding where to send your child is one of the most important decision for parents to make. This is why we always ask parents to come and look around, please call the school office in advance so we can make sure the headteacher will be available to show you round school and answer any questions you may have.
We hope that you will consider us for your child's primary education.

Reception
Children are admitted into Reception in September following their 4th birthday. However, some children and especially those with birthdays falling between March and August might benefit from a part-time admission, these arrangements can be discussed with our headteacher.
The compulsory school age is the beginning of the term following the child's 5th birthday, parents may request to defer their child until a later date in the same school year, or until the child reaches the compulsory school age in that school year.
When applying for a Reception place you must apply directly to the council that you are living in at the time of your application, regardless of the borough where the school is.
If the school is over-subscribed priority is given as follows:
To children with a statement of Special Educational Needs which names the school.
To children and young people in Public Care whom the school has been expressed as a preference.
To children who it is believed have special social or medical reasons for admission.
Siblings of pupils already at the school.
To children living within the normal area of school.
To children living outside the normal area of the school.

In Year Admissions
There are a number of reasons why families may need to move their child from one school to another. We understand the transition process can occasionally be unsettling for both children and parents, at Linton-on-Ouse Primary School and Nursery we like to go above and beyond to make sure the transition process is a positive one.
To enquire about admission for any year group during the school year please contact the school office by email admin@linton.n-yorks.sch.uk or phone 01347 848234, we can then check our availability of places and make an appointment for you to visit our school and meet the headteacher.
