We currently have places available throughout our school
Our expectation is that students will attend school in line with our attendance policy. Remote education is not offered as an alternative to school attendance. However, there are some rare occasions when the school will provide Remote Learning for pupils. This will generally be due to a whole school closure, for example due to inclement weather, power failure, or other unforeseeable situations.
Remote Learning is viewed as an absolute last resort for individual children to access education and will only be considered as a short-term option.
Linton on Ouse Primary School and Nursery use the platform Google Classroom to provide remote learning, and for some classroom-based lessons. Your child will have a log-in and password in their planners.
Our Approach:
If the school is closing, learning will be available via GoogleClassroom by 9am of the day of closure. It will be communicated to parents where the lessons and resources can be found.
Teachers will set remote learning as closely in line to the regular curriculum as possible. A range of websites may be employed, as well as teacher recorded videos/demonstrations and online documents.
The amount of online learning given will be in-line with government guidance, approximately 2.5 hours for EYFS, 3 hours for KS1 and 4 hours for KS2.
For reception classes a range of activities will be provided for parents to access and use accordingly.
If your child would not be attending school because of illness, they do not need to complete the learning.
We ask that you engage with your child through their learning as much as possible, and communicate with school staff if further support is needed during this process.
Children accessing learning via Remote Learning will still be marked as absent in the register, in compliance with government guidance.
If there are accessibility issues, such as not having an appropriate learning device (tablet, computer) then we ask parents to inform the school so that we can help.
Feedback on learning will be provided by the class teacher, and the school will endeavour to continue regular communications with the families.
