We currently have places available throughout our school
Our school is committed to everyone's mental health and wellbeing both in school and out.
There are many reasons why a person might experience mental health challenges, and that this can happen to anyone in a wide range of circumstances.
At Linton on Ouse Primary School and Nursery, we take a positive approach to mental health and wellbeing, celebrating the support that we can give one another, and encouraging discussion about emotions. We all have a role to play in supporting each other in our school community.
We aim to:
Help children to identify, understand and empathize with emotions
Promote self-esteem and positive mental health
Allow children the confidence to be themselves
Create a safe place for children to discuss their emotions and any concerns that they have
Support children to develop and maintain healthy relationships
Teach the importance of resilience and how to manage setbacks

LEGO Therapy
Lego Therapy is an intervention designed by psychologists to support children with social communication and relationships.
As well as aiding children with autistic spectrum disorders, it can also help other children to develop play and social skills such as verbal communication, collaboration, sharing/turn-taking, task completion and focus.
Emotional Support
Children learn best when they feel happier and their emotional needs are being addressed. We offer support to pupils in school who may be experiencing temporary or long term additional emotional needs. Emotional skills we help with include:
Social Skills and Situations
Bereavement
Anxiety
Anger Management
Self-esteem
Real-life problem-solving skills
Friendships
Talking Therapy
ZONES of Regulation
Zones of Regulation is a framework we use that helps children to develop their self-regulation skills and how to recognise emotions in themselves and their classmates. We teach a variety of strategies for regulation, each child will use ones they feel are most effective for them, such as breathing techniques and movement strategies (stretches, skipping, walking). The Zones framework helps children to have a good understanding of their own emotions, recognise when and how they need to regulate and ultimately feel more settled and focused in school.
Children's Mental Health Week
Each year we take part in 'dress to express' to support children's mental health with the charity place2be.
